Our Certifications

We at OST are proud of our long-standing commitment to quality in the services we provide and in the processes we use to deliver those services.  We strive for excellence in all aspects of business and believe that both continuing education and professional certifications help us to better meet our client’s needs.

Below are the certifications our company and employees have worked hard to achieve in order to provide the highest quality service and support to our customers.

Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes. CMMI is de facto global standard for technology integration/development efforts and OST is one of 400 companies worldwide that hold this qualification.  We were externally assessed at CMMI Level 3 in 2003 and CMMI Level 5 in 2011.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies. This International Standard promotes the adoption of a process approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a Quality Management System (QMS), to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.

The Project Management Institute is the leading membership association for project management professionals. PMI is dynamically engaged in advocacy for the profession, setting professional standards, conducting research and providing access to an abundance of valuable information and resources. In addition, PMI advocates career and professional development and offers certification, networking and community involvement opportunities.  Over 94% of OST project leaders and managers are PMP certified.

IEEE is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. Through its global membership, IEEE is a foremost authority on areas ranging from computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, aerospace systems, electric power and consumer electronics. The IEEE is a top developer of international standards that support many of today's information technology, telecommunications and power generation products and services. OST adheres to IEEE standards and is active in promoting those standards through client engagements in the markets that we serve.

ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) is a series of documents that are used to aid the implementation of a lifecycle framework for IT Service Management. This customizable framework defines how Service Management is applied within an organization. ITIL is organized into a series of five volumes: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement. These volumes describe a closed loop feedback system that provides feedback throughout all areas of the lifecycle. The volumes maintain a framework of best practice disciplines that enable IT Services to be provided efficiently. OST embraces ITIL fundamentals as yet another avenue to deliver service excellence.  A number of OST professionals are certified in ITIL.

The Quality Assurance Institute’s (QAI) founding objective was and remains to provide leadership in improving quality, productivity, and effective solutions for process management in the information services profession. It is a global membership organization serving over 1000 corporate members, structured to share state-of-the-art methods, tools, and techniques.  Several OST personnel have been certified by the QAI.

The EVM guidelines incorporate best business practices for earned value management systems (EVMS) that have proven to provide strong benefits for program or enterprise planning and control.  Earned value puts a dollar value the status of your project and shows you your project's 'health' at a glance.  OST’s EVMS has been certified by a federal government agency for compliance against the National Defense Industrial Associations (ANSI/EIA 748) standards.

As the first credential accredited by ANSI to ISO Standard 17024:2003 in the field of information security, the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) certification provides information security professionals with not only an objective gauge of proficiency but a globally recognized standard of achievement. Several OST staff are CISSPs.
