OST, Inc is looking for an energetic, creative, and highly motivated Jr. Network Engineer Intern for Summer 2008.

Requirements

      • Perform system and database backups
      • Implement disaster and recovery
      • Manage operating system and database server scheduled jobs
      • Support project team development and tool support servers and environments
      • Support project application support tools (requirements management, configuration management, test management)
      • Review and analyze Windows 2003 O/S, IIS 6.0, MS SQL Server and load balancer logs and activities
      • Recommend and take corrective action on operating system and web server configuration issues

Responsibilities include:

  • Solid understanding of system administration/ network engineering
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database clustered environment
  • Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities (e.g. GFI LAN Guard, OpManager, Lumigent Log Explorer, etc…)
  • Solid understanding of common TCP/IP services including: DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP
  • Strong documentation and network diagramming capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

We require an entry level analyst/programmer to analyze code, test, and enhance a Windows-based version program. The candidate will be responsible for working with the current design team and designing, coding, and testing .NET-based application components. The applicant must be able to work in a team environment.

Requirements

      • Currently enrolled in computer related degree program with strong full life-cycle development background
      • Experience with development of .NET web-based applications and web services
      • Understanding of InfoPath 2003/2007 Forms development concepts
      • Experience in database development using SQL Server
      • Experience with VB, Java scripting for Automation
      • Analytical and programming knowledge
      • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Must be highly organized, energetic, creative, passionate, and a team player

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and implement web-based workflow applications to support business requirements using .NET technologies
  • Work with current design team in designing, coding, and testing .NET-based application components
  • Assist the project team in translating business requirements into technical requirements
  • Follow approved life-cycle methodologies, industry standard concepts, best practices
  • Create design documents, perform program coding, unit testing, and testing
  • Produce high quality commented code and database scripts
  • Develop highly interactive web user interfaces
  • Ensure application code and database scripts integrity through the usage of configuration management tools
  • Install and configure new releases from development, verification, and production environments
  • Provide demonstration to the end users of newly released functionalities
  • Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
  • Assist in deployment of new releases to verification environment
  • Assist in all areas of SDLC as directed
  • Actively participate in Peer Review teams for purposes of assessing solutions for client needs
  • Actively participate in project lessons learned meetings
  • Ensure work products produced on the project follow the project naming convention and are properly maintained under the project configuration management system
  • Manage multiple concurrent tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required
